Thoughts & Quotes

life is like a series of photographs you develop from the negatives.
When you need to fly from your home, it's not a home. Home should be where the birds feelings are free not caged.
nobody likes the rain but if you want the rainbow you gotta put up with the rain.
♫ And the stars are always there but we miss them in the dirt and in the clouds we miss them in the storms. ♫
To the believer anything is possible, to the sceptic everything is impossible.
"the reason angels can fly is becuase they take themselves lightly"
Stay strong- Keep smiling =] and NEVER give up- there is always hope <3
'It is not the stars to hold our destiny, but in ourselves' (William Shakespeare)
Stick to the fight when your hardest hit, its when things seem worse that you must not quit
it's about learning to dance in the rain
sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same
we never notice the beauty around us because we are too busy trying to create it.
People say that it is holding on that makes you stronger, but sometimes it is letting go and putting yourself first.
No-one can do a better job of being you, than YOU.
Be strong now because things will get better; it may be stormy now but it can't rain forever.
This too shall pass
We have to learn to dance in the rain
Even on the darkest days sometimes we glimpse sunlight
Sometimes we need to tell our story 100 times
Faith is the bird that feels the light and sings when the dawn is still dark

A Message from COAP

Dear COAP community,

***28th October - Update from COAP and NACOA***

COAP will be transfering to COAP on Monday 7th in the evening and will not be online for 36 hours till Wednesday. COAP's messages boards will be at their exciting new home on Thursday 10th november!! We cannot wait to see them on NACOA's website!

***28th October - Update from COAP and NACOA***

We have some important news to share with you. We are excited to share that our wonderful online community will be moving to a new home in August 2016. The new home will be The National Association for Children of Alcoholics – NACOA. You can find out more about them at their website, which is located here. Our message boards will continue to be open at NACOA and available 24/7 on the NACOA website – just like it has been on COAP.

The NACOA message boards will be very similar to the COAP message boards. All of the messages that have ever been posted will transfer over to the message boards at NACOA (that’s over 6,000 messages!), as well as your personal details so that NACOA can continue to operate the message boards and manage your member accounts. We know that a lot of the information that you post is very personal, and NACOA will make sure that the only people who can link your posts to your member accounts are those who really need to do so to keep the message boards working properly.
Message board members and mentors who have lived with or are living with a parent’s addiction will still reply to messages posted. The message boards will also now have the added support of helpline volunteers at NACOA replying to messages posted.

We very much hope our online community will continue to grow and importantly let everyone living with an addicted parent know they are not alone!

The new home for COAP online community and message boards does sadly mean that COAP will close down due to funding cuts and the COAP website will no longer be available. We know COAP has been a second home, a place of safety, a place to feel heard and understood.
We want to say a big heart felt thank you to each and everyone one of you for making COAP the special place that it has become over almost 10 years since it began in 2006. We want to hear your thoughts and we are here for you at this time. If you have any questions or concerns please contact us here.
